Controversial Monkey Box Video Makes YouTube Front Page!

HOLLYWOOD, CA -A controversial video from comedy group The Monkey Box was prominently featured on YouTube's front page this week. The video "Extreme Makeover - HomeLESS Edition" is a satire of "Extreme Makeover -Home Edition." In the video, a homeless man's refrigerator hovel is given a bare minimum of changes, while the hosts of the show congratulate themselves on a job well done.
"It's meant to satire the self-importance of so many of those makeover shows," says producer John T. Mickevich.
Some viewers didn't see it that way and left many comments accusing The Monkey Box of insensitivity toward the homeless. "It certainly wasn't meant that way. If you watch the video, you see that our homeless man is the only one in the video who isn't a complete phony."
The video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LKDNcwZCmI
Formed in 2006, the Monkey Box has been seen over four million times on the internet, and was a 2007 MySpace MyEmmy nominee for their short film "Janitors."
